A bean's demise

Our poor kidney bean plant. It was just starting to flower. This plant began as a kitchen science experiment. We sprouted a kidney bean, lima bean, pinto bean, and lentil in a mason jar. Of those sprouts, the kidney bean was the strongest and thrived after transplanting. Today, as my oldest and his friend were baking in the kitchen, my 2 yo and his friend climbed up on a chair to watch--and decided to uproot the plants in the pot right next to them. So. Let's all give a moment of silence to the brave plant that tried
its best in a house full of boys. . .

On the other hand, here is a happy picture--my valentine from my fearless compadre in life. He is so creative. While I was out at Knights of Freedom, he came home and made this lovely bouquet of paper flowers. Long live LOVE!
